Parental Skills Training

The Community Parenting Workshop, were attended by 60 people from various aspects of the community such as Nurses, Social workers, Community leader, Care-giver, parents and youths. The facilitator, Mrs Shehu F.Z. explained changes in families with a focus on how to cope with difficult times in order to strengthen and develop strong relationships with children. Participants were told what family means and types of families (Nuclear, Extended, Foster, Single-parent, etc. In groups, issues about the challenges facing today’s families, the causes and solutions were discussed by each group representative making a presentation of issues highlighted as shown on the table below:
